by: Michelle S. Nojadera

Kitchen is considered as the heart of the home and the hot spot. Hot because in there is literally hot because of cooking and using the appliances there. We have appliances like refrigerator, rice cooker, oven, turbo broiler, coffee maker, blender and etc. These tools take a lot of power and energy. This is one of the most problems in household aspect. 40% of energy consumed is in the kitchen.

Energy efficiency is now the norm when building, renovating or remodelling kitchens, says Doug Kerr, of award-winning Kerr Construction in Vancouver. Softening the kitchen carbon footprint is good news for the environment. And continuing improvements in energy-saving products makes choices stylish, functional and endless. Plus there are attractive government incentives for home owners to install home energy improvements.

Some people suggest of using green kitchen since we have to conserve energy. One of the high cost bills is electricity. To lower its use, we have to be thrifty and wise in using appliances. [via theobserver.ca]
